Ignatius Wolfpack Lacrosse Team Participation
TP_player Expectations
All Saint Ignatius College Prep and its Athletic Department rules are expected to be followed. Violations of these rules will be handled according to school policy.
  • All practices are mandatory. You miss practice you do not play.
  • All returning players and first year sophomore, juniors and seniors must have a IHSA approved physical on hand with the Athletic Department prior to the first day of practice in the spring.
  • Situations that arise and cause a student/
athlete to miss practice or a game must be brought to the coachís attention 1 day prior to event, if possible. Although the absence may be excused, roster depth chart may be affected.
  • Team depth charts are continually changing, based on the athleteís performance.
  • Playing time is at the sole discretion of the coaching staff.
  • It’s a privilege to be part of the Wolfpack Lacrosse Program, all players, coaching staff, and parents are expected to demonstrate respect and honor for SICP and for the game of lacrosse. Good sportsmanship and representing the team with respect is imperative.
Spring Break
We are a spring sport and we do practice and play through spring break each season. It is recommended that players and their families contact Coach Stevenson regarding specific dates of the teamís spring break. Typically we do break for a few days however, due to scheduling conflicts it is not always the same each year. If players do miss practice or games, absences will not be excused and a lack of playing time in games will be result of missing team mandatory events.

Off Season
The lacrosse season is three (3) months long, however, the Program expects the student athlete to continue to work during the off-season. We demand a great deal from every player and each player is expected to keep playing throughout the year (formally and/or informally) while still maintaining his academic excellence or participate in other sports (down time from lacrosse is expected) if he chooses to keep his athletic conditioning and to build upon his success from the season before. In short, if the student athlete is not currently involved with another sport, he is strongly encouraged to participate in other off season lacrosse programs.

Summer camps, either locally or elsewhere (a great deal of our boy’s travel to the east coast to play in the “hotbeds” of lacrosse) are strongly encouraged, fall and winter indoor are available both in the suburbs and the Wolfpack Program does play winter indoor at Mercy Home Indoor facility (1 mile from SICP) from November until February.
